Homemade Bathroom Cleaner Recipe

Homemade bathroom cleaner is so easy and simple to do! If you have ever spent an entire evening scrubbing at your home, you will know what I mean. Sure, you can get a strong dish detergent and mix with half white vinegar, but why stop there? Get yourself a refillable dish cloth and top it off with half bath soap and half vinegar.

Take your half mixture and make another batch of your homemade bathroom cleaner. Put it on your toilet tank and flush it down. Once that is done, take the remaining mixture and make small bowl from it. Add some vinegar to the toilet bowl and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then just wipe the toilet down again.

This is one of my favorite homemade recipes that has forever changed how I approach my toilet cleaning. It’s not only clean, but it smells great too. You can’t even tell that it’s not a homemade bottle of cleaner. That’s because it smells like a bottle of commercial cleaner but is also completely all-in-one bathroom cleaner.

You can use this homemade bathroom cleaner anytime you want and anytime you need it. I use it when I’m brushing my teeth, or washing dishes, and I’ve even used it as a cleaning aid for some hard flooring. I love that the vinegar is neutral, and baking soda doesn’t irritate sensitive skin either. You can actually brush some baking soda into hard water deposits and remove tons of stains and dirt.

Homemade cleaning products are a huge money saver, especially if you’re trying to live on a tight budget all year. You can create your own cleaning solutions, store-bought cleaners don’t last as long. Plus store-bought cleaners are expensive. I’m not going to say they’re cheap, but they don’t last nearly as long as homemade bathroom cleaner solutions. The chemicals in store-bought cleaners are also very harsh on the environment.

To create your own homemade bathroom cleaner, all you need is lemon juice, an old toothbrush, a bottle of vinegar, and a bottle of dish soap. Mix up all three ingredients and pour them into a small spray bottle. Spray the mixture onto your bathroom floors, shower walls, counter tops, and any other surfaces in your home where you’d like to keep clean. Just remember to let the mixture sink into the areas before you wipe it off with a wet towel.

To clean your bathtub, you’ll need one cup of white vinegar, one tablespoon of dish soap, and thirty minutes to an hour of time. Soak the tub in the vinegar mixture for thirty minutes, and then run the water and electric out. After the tub has been submerged in the mixture, scrub the tub with a sponge covered in abrasive scrub.

For your toilet, you’ll need one cup of liquid dish detergent, one teaspoon of baking soda, and one cup of hot water. Mix these ingredients together and apply it to your toilet bowl and all of the toilets inside of the home. Once the detergent has dissolved into the bowl, scrub the bowl using a soft sponge. Rinse it off once it’s clean. If you want a more powerful homemade bathroom cleaner solution, you can also add one tablespoon of borax to the mixture for stronger cleaning results.

For your floors and walls in your bathroom, mix one cup of white vinegar with one half cup of hot water. The solution will make a thick paste that you can use to clean all of the different things in your home with. Borax is great to use in combination with soap scum. Just rub the mixture on the walls and floors and rinse. You’ll soon find yourself with a clean home that will feel like new.

To clean the interior of your cabinets, you’ll need one cup of lemon juice, one tablespoon of salt, and two tablespoons of baking soda. Spray bottle your homemade cleaner and spray it onto the cabinet doors and the inside of the drawer. It will seal up any liquid that may be in there. Leave it on for fifteen minutes and then wipe it down with a clean cloth. If you want a stronger solution for your homemade bathroom cleaner, you can mix one tablespoon of borax with one cup of water.

For your shower cleaner, just mix two tablespoons of baking soda with two tablespoons of dish soap. Use this to wash your hair, floor, and bath tub. If you’re using a mixture of ingredients, it may be best to let it sit for a few days to get all of the ingredients used up. If you add the mixture to a spray bottle, you can just shake it out and spray your house.
